Did my Approach trading at Cardiff Airport in the summer of 1974 and it was whilst there that I met my future wife. Hence at the end of the Cadetship I requested a posting back to Cardiff, which I got.

In 1983 I, and three other ATCOs at Cardiff with Area Ratings were informed that we were to be posted to LATCC in preparation for the new E&S system that was planned. I started there in September of 1984. Oh, and E&S never did get implemented!

I joined D Watch training up on South Bank sectors, it was great fun.

In 1992 I was transferred back to Cardiff and was Watch Manager in 1998.

Divorced in 2004 but remarried in 2006.

2005 I requested a move to Hurn as an Area Instructor and started there in the Autumn of 2006 . Worked at Hurn and then at the new training set up at Whitely remaining  there till retirement in 2012.
